Wheelhouse & Biking

What: Biking! Trail riding, Red Bull athlete guided tours, bike repair and more
Where: Located in Infinity Downs, just south of RV Camping West
When: Open Thurs-Sun: 8am – 8pm
Bike Ride Schedule: Thurs: 5pm, Fri-Sat: 9am, 1pm, 5pm, Sun: 9am, 1pm
What to Bring: Your bike! We will also have some bikes for rent

Bring your bikes with you to LOCKN’! We have over 15 miles of beautiful bike trails available to festival patrons. You can also use your bike to get around the campgrounds and event site. We’ll have bike racks set up at convenient locations throughout the site.

In the Wheelhouse we will offer:

  • Trails, trails, trails. Our trails are freshly designed, and they’re going to be awesome! All guided rides will be on these trails. Patrons are welcome to ride and run the trails at will with their own bikes. Trails are marked with different color trail markers. Distance markers are also on the trails for reference in case of an emergency. Trail maps will be posted at critical locations on the trail and handheld copies will be available in the Wheelhouse.
  • Guided trail rides! There will be three rides on most days (both beginner and intermediate options) guided by the folks from CAMBC and Red Bull athletes. You may sign up in advance at the Wheelhouse or show up at the start of the ride and join if the ride is not at capacity.
  • Rental Bikes, provided by Respect Cycles. Respect Cycles will be renting bikes for general use around the festival. Bike rentals cost $50 for 1 day, $90 for 2 days, and $120 for 3 days.
  • Free Bike Repair provided by CAMBC. Bring your busted bikes for free, on the spot repair.

Participation Row

The Participation Row social action village, presented by Qello Concerts, is coming back to LOCKN’! Thanks to HeadCount, Qello Concerts and D’Angelico Guitars, we are making it even more fun than ever to take socially conscious actions while enjoying the great music at LOCKN’.

This year’s Row features nearly 20 amazing national and local organizations, including HeadCount, Conscious Alliance, Habitat for Humanity, NORML, Love Hope Strength, and more.

If you take actions on Participation Row you’ll also get free Ben & Jerry’s and a chance to win a custom, commemorative D’Angelico guitar signed by a bunch of LOCKN’ artists.

Daily LOCKN’ Yoga

What: Daily multi-level yoga
Where: At the Woods Stage near the Tavern
When: Thursday 4pm – 5pm, Friday-Sunday: 10am – 11am
What to Bring: Please bring your own mat, a towel, and water for yoga at LOCKN’

Join us every day under the trees for Live Dub Flow with Opal Yoga! Get centered+ready to rock with a daily dose of laid back, multi-level creative vinyasa sequencing and juicy assists set to live digital beats dropped by DJ Hix.

Family Hang, Hosted by The Festy Experience

What: A comfortable, safe, shaded area for families to use freely with their children
Where: Show Field
When: Thurs (5pm-Dark), Fri (Noon-6pm), Sat (Noon-6pm), Sun (Noon-7:30pm)
What to Bring: Yourself and your family!

The Family Hang is a comfortable, safe, shaded area for families attending LOCKN’ to use freely throughout their time with their children. The Family Hang will feature a variety of family activities, a privacy tent for nursing mothers/overheated children, and family craft experiences including LOCKN’ Kids Print Shop, Leave Your Mark, Hula Hoop Town, an Instrument Petting Zoo, and the Kids Lounge. Each day at 1pm, we will have a program hosted by Dreamtime Project called “Music & Stories from Around The World,” a one-hour, interactive workshop hosted by Jim Gagnon.


REVERB #RockNRefill Water Bottle Program

What: Make a donation of $15 to get a limited edition LOCKN’ Nalgene bottle, and refill all weekend for free to help eliminate the use of plastic bottles and raise money for non-profits!
How it works:

  1. Make a $15 Donation to the efforts of REVERB and Participation Row
  2. Get a limited edition LOCKN 2016 NALGENE Bottle
  3. Eliminate single-use plastic at the festival by using your bottle to #RockNRefill all weekend long!

REVERB is proud to bring the #RockNRefill program to LOCKN’ 2016! #RockNRefill, a partnership between REVERB and Nalgene USA, will put over 50,000 reusable water bottles in the hands of music fans across the country while eliminating the use of over 500K single-use plastic bottles and raising $500K for the efforts of non-profit organizations in the US.

Fans can make a donation of $15 to get a limited edition LOCKN’ 2016 Nalgene bottle and refill all weekend for free at filtered water stations located on the festival grounds. These efforts will significantly reduce single-use plastic waste at the festival and the donations raised through the program will provide free filtered water for all festival goers and raise funds for REVERB’s partners at HeadCount and the non-profit organizations represented on Participation Row at the festival. SoberLOCKN’

What: Daily meetings for sober fans
Where: Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery (12pm & 4pm), Fellowship Tent at Participation Row (7pm & Midnight)
When: Each Day at 12pm, 4pm and 6pm

Share fellowship with other passionate clean and sober music fans who enjoy recovery and music in harmony. We’re liked-minded friends who gather to offer support — and traction — in what might otherwise be a slippery environment for sobriety. SoberLockn’ will hold daily meetings at noon, 4pm, 7pm and midnight (no late Sunday meeting).


Water LOCKN’

What: Trips to the Tye River to swim off and cool down! Vans leave every hour, on the hour
Where: The vans to Tye River (15 min south of festival site) leave from the Trinity Church, located across the street from the LOCKN’ Main Stage grounds, close to Gate 1 and the Shuttle & Bus Stop. Guests should gather at the Church across from the Atlas statue
When: Each day. Departures on the hour every hour. Fri-Sat: 11am – 4pm, Sun: 11am – 3pm

WaterLOCKN’ takes LOCKN’ attendees to the Tye River, 15 minutes south of LOCKN’, for a chance to swim around and cool off! No tubing, just swimming. Tickets cost $20 for an hour long session overseen by certified lifeguards. Guests are encouraged to sign up for trips at least a day early.

Vida-Flo

Trinity Church

What: Church members and volunteers host festival goers who visit the property
Where: Located across the street from the Lockn’ Festival Main Stage grounds, close to Gate 1 and the Shuttle & Bus Stop
When: Church grounds are open from 9am to 6pm each day of the festival

The church welcomes guests from the festival to take time aside to meditate and pray on the church grounds. There is a new labyrinth recently installed next to the cemetery that guests are welcome to use for meditation. If it is not in use, guests are also welcome to take a peek inside the historic church built in 1830. However, the parish hall and its facilities remain only for the use of church members and ministry volunteers. From 6pm each day until 9am the following morning, the church grounds remain closed to festival goers. Camping on the church property is only for church members and church volunteers.

Trinity’s Sunday church service will be held at at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome.

Virginia Department of Health

The Virginia Department of Health will have a tent set up on the festival grounds to promote well-being and also provide some free giveaways like sunscreen, insect repellant and hand sanitizer.
